Combat Christmas coughs and colds

Christmas. It’s not only the season of joy, hope, and giving, it is also a season of colds and coughs. Some experts attribute this to the stress of the season (which affects the immunity system) and also, the crowded malls and parties (where it’s easier to catch and pass the virus). To avoid spending the holidays under the sheets, follow these few tips:

  1. Strengthen your body’s defense system by taking vitamins regularly. Try multivitamins Enervon which has 50% vitamin C that boosts your immunity. Kids could benefit from ascorbic acid and zinc Ceelin Plus. Adults could take multivitamins Conzace for heavy body resistance.
  2. Wash your hands frequently. Bring a handy sanitizer when leaving the house. As much as you can, avoid crowded places. Stay as far away from sick people as possible.
  3. Avoid partying to the wee hours of dawn every day. Your body needs enough rest to recuperate and rejuvenate. Without ample sleep you’ll be more susceptible to infections and diseases.
  4. If you get down with colds and coughs, drink plenty of water because it is believed to help loosen mucus, making it easier to expel. Drinking Solmux, eating warm chicken soup, or gargling with saltwater could help soothe your throat.

For quicker and lasting relief, opt for over the counter medicines. For colds: Neozep Forte is perfect for adults suffering from all the symptoms associated with the common cold like clogged nose, runny and watery eyes and sneezing. Neozep Drops is best for children with the sniffles. For coughs: Solmux makes phlegm less sticky and easier to expel for adults. For kids, Pambatang Solmux will work wonders.

(Caution: it’s still best to ask your doc about it, especially if you’re suffering from diabetes, heart problems or high blood pressure.)
