How to keep your emotional health in tiptop shape
It’s not easy being an overseas Pinoy. Aside from dealing with homesickness, he has to adjust to a different environment, different culture and different people, all the while trying to do his best at his job.
To stay emotionally healthy, here are some tips:
-
Take good care of your body. A nutritious diet, ample rest, and regular exercise are important factors to your total wellbeing.
-
Social interaction is important. Keep in touch with family and friends back home. Join volunteer groups or pick up a sport.
-
Think positive. Remember the good times. And instead of dwelling on a problem, think of solutions or ask for help.
-
Take a break. Find time for yourself. Do something that you truly enjoy, such as reading or watching a movie.
-
Write. Keep a journal or blog about your problems, thoughts and feelings. Expressive writing is therapeutic.
Stay strong!
