Morning after: the post-Christmas clean up

Christmas spells a night filled with gifts, music, great food, and loved ones. But after all the partying and merrymaking, cleaning up your house can seem like a nightmare! Here are a few tips to make tidying up easier:

  1. Choose a single spot in your home where you will hold all merriment. This would limit the areas to clean up. For example, keep your guests in the living room or on the garden (where there should be no breakable items!).
  2. Give Mother Nature--and future generations!—agift. Near your selected spot, prepare several garbage bags for trash: one for biodegradable, another for non-biodegradable, and another for recyclables. Then instruct everyone to throw his trash instead of leaving them lying around.
  3. To avoid tedious and frequent dish washing, use disposable plates, cups and pans. Again, remember to segregate your trash!
But most importantly, remember that Christmas won’t be fun if you’re too stressed out. So plan ahead and relax! And don’t forget that cleaning up need not be your responsibility alone. With the spirit of Christmas lingering, your family and friends would be willing to help you out.
